Good morning,
The city of Huntsville is hiring two full-time firefighters; we have always been a volunteer department.  I am wondering if anyone has done this in the past few years and how your city decided if you were going to pay social security (and LOPFI) or LOPFI only?  It is my understanding that we can change our 218 Agreement with Social Security to exclude firefighters and that more cities in Arkansas don't pay SS than do pay SS.  Any input would be greatly appreciated!  My number is 479-738-6607, Katie Boyd, katieboyd@huntsvillearkansas.org.
